Let's Heal. Together.

Who Are Rooted?

Created by Herbalists, Fee DeFreitas and Leila Halid, Rooted was founded with the intention of empowering Black and Brown women through herbal medicine education, to take control of their health and to utilise the information learnt to care for their families using natural preventive methods.  Through a series of well-being courses and monthly gatherings, we aim to help the collective heal.

Fee

A naturopath, herbalist and reiki practitioner, with a goal; make natural healing methods more accessible and break down barriers caused by racial, financial and social inequality.

Fee specialises in restoring health and well-being. Always addressing the root cause, improving resilience and health both physically and emotionally, until she’s not needed. She’s passionate about this, it’s wellbeing... yes, but it’s so much more: it’s the relationship between health, stress and coping; it’s empowering others to improve their health and to count all the little things as achievements; and it’s creating a sustainable future of independent self care.

Fee sees clients in person in Brighton, London and also online.

Leila

As a trained herbalist and medicine maker, Leila is most in flow when curating well-being experiences that facilitate a re-connection with nature and plant medicine to heal physical, emotional, mental and spiritual dis-ease. Her path to wellness and the discovery of how effective plant medicine could be sparked her interest in traditional healing methods, questioning what constitutes as wellness in today's world. A keen interest in Medical Anthropology has led her to combine her knowledge with an exploration into how wellness is valued and incorporated into other cultures. She presently runs her herbal practice Adae Well-Being, in South London.
